Waco Lake Research Area Lookout
Description: The Research Area Lookout is located near Waco Lake Project Office within the city limits of Waco, TX. The site is part of a small trail that leads to an area that was dug out when the new dam was built from 1958 to 1964. The lookout is open to the public and is USACE managed. Access to the trail beyond the lookout is by permit only from Park Rangers or Lake Manager.

Wildlife to Watch: Wildlife to watch for in this area includes common bird species due to limited visibility of tree tops.
