Description: The Research Area Lookout is located near Waco Lake Project Office within the city limits of Waco, TX. The site is part of a small trail that leads to an area that was dug out when the new dam was built from 1958 to 1964. The lookout is open to the public and is USACE managed. Access to the trail beyond the lookout is by permit only from Park Rangers or Lake Manager.

Driving Directions: From I-35 take Lake Shore Dr. exit to China Spring HWY. Then turn left on to Steinbeck Bend Dr. Follow Steinbeck Bend Dr. through one stop sign and the lookout area will be on the left.
